The logo of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the proclamation of the Greek Revolution and the events of honor and remembrance in the year 2021 was designed for the Municipality of the Holy City of Messolonghi and the Committee “Holy City of Messolonghi Revolution Self-Sacrifice”.
In order to honor its heroes and emphasize the role of Messolonghi in the cause of Greek independence, the Holy City of Messolonghi, organizes the established “Exodus Festivals” where they are planned and will take place throughout the year 2021 in its municipal districts. Municipality.
We proudly designed the logo mark which perfectly expresses the meaning and role of Messolonghi in the cause of Greek independence. A dynamic logo that balances between traditional and modern graphic aesthetics, capturing the greatness of Greece and the Greek Revolution while marking the contribution of the Exodus in the struggle for Freedom and Greek independence.
THE CONCEPT
Specifically, the Messolonghi Gate was an inspiration for us and could not be omitted since it is the trademark of the city. The key number “21” connects the dates 1821 and 2021 where they are written on the edges of the Gate to mark the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution. Part of the wavy Greek flag with the Cross, which at its ends resembles the shape of a sword, is presented to further strengthen the signal. The colors range in dark blue and light blue to be even more reminiscent of the colors of the Greek flag.
